Kundapur: Renovated Ultoor Mahalingeshwara Temple inaugurated

Kundapur, Feb 9: "Innocent mind resembles the mind of the Almighty. The Almighty can be seen in a child. We should be childlike. We can then see loving world free of revenge. We can achieve nothing by taking revenge, but we can win the world with love. Every individual's heart shoud become a 'Brahma Kalasha' for the formation of a beautiful society," said state minister of forests, B Ramanath Rai.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the renovated Ultoor Mahatobhara Mahalingeshwara Temple here on Thursday February 9.

"Temples were being renovated by kings in the olden days. The same are being renovated by people now. The undivided district shows that society can develop by the participation of all in God’s work. The undivided Dakshina Kannada district is ahead in distribution of sites, 94C applications, Akrama Sakrama etc. Economic progress is possible due to social changes," he said.

Rudrappa Manappa Lamani, minister of religious endowment and textiles said that the construction of the temple in 180 days shows that achievement is easy if one makes up one's mind. "Generous souls have joined hands and constructed this amazing temple. The participation of businessmen and people in the renovation of the temple is lasting. Businessmen have contributed a lot for the development of religious places in this part of the state," he said.

Vedamurthi Bhaskar Bhat delivered religious sermon. MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty presided over the programme.

Mumbai Bantara Sangha president Prabhakar L Shetty, Kedoor grama panchayat president Sampath Kumar Shetty, Basruru Mahatobhara temple trustee B Appanna Hegde, State Bank of Mysore director Ambligola Prabhakar Shetty, temple management committee president Surendra Hegde Malmane were present.

Renovation committee president, Mantapa donor Ultooru Mohandas Shetty Kattimane and copper cover donor to the temple Hyderabad businessman Vanaja Raju Kothari were felicitated on the occasion. Bus stand construction in memory of Kattemane Chikkayya was inaugurated by Haladi Srinivasa Shetty.

Renovation committee president Ulthooru Mohandas Shetty Kattemane welcomed and gave a key note address. Ashok Pakale and Nagesh Poojary Vakwadi compered the programme. Ajith Shetty proposed vote of thanks. Yakshagana was performed after 7 pm.
