Fake currency of Rs 3.90 lakh face value seized in Jammu


Jammu, Feb 18 (IANS): Police in winter capital Jammu on Saturday seized fake currency notes of Rs 3.90 lakh face value and arrested two people in this connection, police said.

S.D. Singh Jamwal, Inspector General of Police (IGP) - Jammu zone, told reporters that the fake currency notes were seized in Simbal Camp area of Jammu district.

The IGP said that two persons -- Amarjit Singh and Ramesh Kumar -- have been arrested in this case and more arrests are likely as investigations into the case progress.

This is the first case of fake currency notes seizure in Jammu district.
