Bengaluru, Mar 1: After the controversy over the alleged bribery in the Steel Bridge project and Diarygate, BJP opposition leader in the State Assembly Jagadish Shettar alleged that the ruling Congress government had connived with the Baldota Mining Group to allow mining in the bio-diversity rich Kappatagudda hill.

Even though there was collective opinion in favour of restoring the conservation reserve tag for Kappatagudda in the meeting of the State Wildlife Board, the BJP leader said the State Government deliberately delayed issue of notification.

The Baldota Group had exerted pressure on the government and the Congress High Command, which yielded to the mining lobby, he alleged.

He also demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into alleged diaries released by the Congress and the BJP.
