Member of gunrunners' gang held in Delhi

New Delhi, March 7 (IANS): A Madhya Pradesh native was arrested in north Delhi on the charge of being involved in supply of illegal firearms and 15 China-made pistols were seized from him, Delhi Police said on Tuesday.

Suresh, aged 23 and a native of Burhanpur, was arrested on Monday in Nand Nagari when he arrived there to supply the sophisticated 'Made in China' firearms to one of his contacts, police added.

He was allegedly a member of an inter-state gang involved in supplying illegal firearms in the National Capital Region and adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh to local criminals.

Suresh came in contact with Baljith Singh of Madhya Pradesh six months ago and started working with the latter as firearms courier, Deputy Commissioner of Police P.K. Kushwah said.
