Kasargod, Mar 9: Information on the world famous arts ffom Thenkuthittu Yakshagana Puppetry is published in Japanese language. Professor Sunio Morijiri who is conducting research at Vaseda University, Tokyo on Janapada arts has given a special status to this amazing art of the coastal region in his book.

Sunio Morijiri who arrived at Mangaluru university as visiting lecturer four years ago, gathered information from Gopalakrishna puppetry director K V Ramesh. He has conducted research on the history of Thenkuthittu Yakshagana Puppetry, tradition and exhibitions and has included the details in his research work providing a special status for the art.

Several pages are reserved in the book titled 'Kabu Geki Yakshagana' made up of nearly 300 pages. Professor Sumio Morijiri has explained in his native tongue the contributions by Dr Parthisubba, Dr Shivarama Karanth, Dr D Veerendra Heggade and Dr Amritha Someshwara.

Documentary on puppetry to Japan: Professor Morijeri watched and expressed his appreciation in Pilikunje to the documentary prepared by Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata on puppetry. He said that the documentary will be shown in Japan besides arranging for its shows elsewhere in the world.
