Dubai: Ski Dubai Assault, Trial Adjourned

7 Days

Dubai, Mar 4: A female instructor at Ski Dubai yesterday told a Dubai court that she saw a naked man attempting to rape a 12-year-old boy at the indoor snow dome. According to the Kenyan woman, 28, in November last year she was in the Snow Park section of the facility when a group of children ran towards her asking for her help.

“They told me that a man was doing something bad to their friend,” she said in court records. “When I reached the Snow Garden, I saw the suspect naked in the cave above the victim who was screaming out in a low voice.”  The woman said she attempted to drag the Saudi suspect, 25, off the Omani boy, but he fought her off and continued to try to have sex with the youngster, until a security guard came and pulled him away.

The guard said: “They informed me there was a problem and when I reached the place I saw the legs of the defendant above the legs of the victim in the cave. I eventually managed to drag him off even though he kept resisting me and someone called the police.”

During the police investigation into the matter, the suspect was forced to undergo a psychological assessment, which found he did not suffer from any mental problems. “He doesn't have problems that can affect his mind and he is responsible for his acts,” the report said. However, yesterday in court the defendant said: “I wasn't aware of what happened.”

He denies charges of forced homosexuality. The trial has been adjourned until later this month.
