Udupi: Man trying to pluck mangoes with metal stick electrocuted

Udupi, Mar 13: A man trying to pluck mangoes at Kelakunjalu, Chantaru here in the morning on Monday March 13 died on the spot due to electrocution.

The deceased has been identified as Jayanth (30). He was a resident of Kelakunjalu and a daily wage construction worker.

He had climbed a mango tree along with Nagaraj and other friends. He was trying to pluck mangoes with the metal stick. Meanwhile the stick came into contact with eleven thousand volts high voltage cable that is passing near the tree and died on the spot.

A police case has been registered at Brahmavar police station.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

    Such a sad incident. This man lost his life while plucking mangoes with a metal stick which came in contact with a life high tension wire. May his soul RIP and I feel sorry for his wife and two children. May God provide them with their needs.

    When there is the high voltage wire line near the tree, he should have thought before using iron rod.. I dont feel pitty on him.
