Kollam, Mar 15 (Agencies): Even as Kerala mourns the death of two minor sisters who were sexually abused near Walayar,a similar case has surfaced from Kundara near Kollam.
A 10-year-old girl was found hanging from the window frame of her house on January 15. A postmortem report suggested that the girl had been subjected to repeated sexual violence. As many as 22 injurie were found on her body, including her private parts.
The report of the examination done at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College has been made available to the Kundara circle inspector and the Kollam rural superintendent of police, a day after the girl was found dead but the police are yet to take any action in the case....
The girl's father said he had gone several times to the police station to tell them that it was not a suicide but he was sent back every time.
The police had found a note near the body that said the girl was ending her life because of family troubles. It was not confirmed whether the 10-year-old girl wrote the "suicide note".
Her body was found hanging with her feet touching the ground.
Circle inspector R. Sabu would only say that the accused would be held when they deemed it fit. He said the police had their own investigation methods and there were problems in questioning the family.
