Kashmir operation called off after militants escape

Srinagar, Mar 17 (IANS): A security operation in south Kashmir's Pulwama district was called off on Friday after militants managed to escape, police said.

Forces surrounded Batnoor village late Thursday night following information about the presence of the militants.

Firing exchanges also took place before the militants escaped, the police added.
