Beltangady: Rape of minor - police arrest three

Beltangady, Apr 3: Three persons who reportedly raped a minor have been taken into custody by police personnel of Dharmasthala station in the taluk. The arrested accused happen to be Yashodhar (23) from Uruvalu village, Adi alias Aditya (25), and Karunakar (33), both of whom are residents of Kalanja. It is said that the trio had raped the girl on different occasions at different places.

The girl had conceived as a result, and had visited a doctor at Mangaluru during the seventh month of her pregnancy recently. The doctor in turn passed on information to the police, after which the trio was taken into custody. It is said that the men exploited her situation on account of her personal problems arising out of financial condition of her family.

Police circle inspector, Nagesh, has been leading the investigation.
