Hassan, Apr 3: After a car tumbled into an agricultural field by the roadside near Shanthigram on national highway on Sunday April 2, three members of a family lost their lives. Four more were injured.

Pushparaj (50), Malati (45) and Rajeshwari (38) from the town died in this accident. Evant, Keertina, Chandrakala and Shantiprasad, who suffered injuries, stand admitted into the district hospital here. It is said that the accident occurred after one of the tyres of the car burst.

The family had visited Shanthigram to take part in the annual puja of Shanthinatha Swamy being held there. The family met with this unfortunate accident when returning home at around 2.45 pm, it is gathered.
