Karkala, Apr 4: An accident occurred between a car and a motor bike near Lamina Cross at Nitte near here on the night of Sunday April 2. In this accident, Ramakrishna (55) from Nitte Parappady, who was riding the motor bike, lost his life.

A Maruti Swift that was moving towards the town from the direction of Nitte directly hit the motor bike on which Ramakrishna was seated. The bike rider, who suffered grievous  injuries, died on his way to hospital.

Ramakrishna, a native of Nitte Parappady, was a professional driver. It is said that the car driver moved on extreme right of the road and knocked down the motor bike coming from the opposite direction. A relative of Ramakrishna, who was  going by that road, saw that Ramakriswhna was lying by the side of the road. He summoned an ambulance and arranged to admit Ramakrishna into a hospital. But the bike rider died on the way, it is gathered.

Ramakrishna is survived by wife and children. The driver of the car which caused this accident has been identified as Praveen Kumar.
