Mangaluru: Bike rider loses life in accident involving tanker

Mangaluru, Apr 11: The rider of a motor bike died in an accident which happened on Monday April 10 afternoon at Kuntikan in the city. The motor bike on which he was seated was hit by a tanker carrying LPG, resulting in his instant death.

The victim was Sadananda Shetty (53), resident of Kana in Suratkal. At around 3.15 pm on Monday, he was moving in his two-wheeler towards KPT from Kuntikan through the bypass road passing in front of A J Hospital and trying to  enter the national highway when a gas tanker based in Tamil Nadu moving towards Nanthur from Bykampady, hit his vehicle. Due to the impact, his motor bike fell down and the rider was crushed under the truck wheels.

It is gathered that Sadananda Shetty, who was married, was a vegetable vendor based in Bykampady.
