Mangaluru, Apr 12: Some parts of the twin-districts like Sullia, Subrhamanya, Karkala and Kollur received good rain coupled with thunder, lightning and strong wind on Tuesday April 11 evening. There was some rain in Kadaba, Ujire and Dharmasthala too.
Most parts of Dakshina Kannada district including the city experienced cloudy weather on Tuesday. Several parts of Kasargod district received some rain on Tuesday night.
Although the rain came as a dampener to religious rituals, festivals and performances taking place at night, the people got some respite from sweltering heat. Several trees and electric poles in Sullia taluk including Peruvaje, Jalsoor and Guthigar fell to the ground due to strong wind. In some places, trees which fell on the roads blocked traffic.
