Mangaluru: Man held for threatening family, forcibly taking away cow

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A person who has been accused of visiting a house in broad daylight and taking away a cow that was tethered in the courtyard after threatening the family members, stands arrested. The arrested accused has been identified as Khalid (30), resident of Ulaibettu near here.

It is said that Khalid, along with his accomplices, had come to a house in Mundevu, Ganjimath, on April 10 this year and taken away a cow belonging to a family there after threatening the people in the household. A complaint about this incident was filed at Bajpe police station. The police, who investigated the matter, arrested the accused on Friday April 14. They also seized a car said to have been used for the crime.

The operation was conducted by Bajpe station police inspector, Nagaraj, and other staff. The police are now hunting for the other four accomplices of Khalid for their participation in the said crime.
