Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad engages in 'verbal spat' with cops

Mumbai, Apr 20 (PTI): Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad allegedly had a heated argument with cops over "non- functioning" of ATMs at Latur in Marathwada region, police said.

Videos of the alleged heated argument between Gaikwad, his supporters and police personnel at Latur in Marathwada region, have gone viral on social media.

In the visuals, Gaikwad is purportedly seen arguing with a police officer, during a protest over non-functioning ATMs at Latur.

The Lok Sabha member from adjoining Osmanabad constituency, Gaikwad, who reached Latur yesterday, had sent his aide to withdraw money from an ATM at Latur.

However, the aide returned empty-handed, saying the ATM had run out of cash. This happened with a few other ATMs, prompting the Sena MP to go out and stage a protest with his supporters outside an ATM.

When policemen arrived and requested Gaikwad to discontinue his protest as it was hampering the vehicular traffic, the Sena MP allegedly shouted at them, police said.

Giving his version of the incident, Gaikwad said, "There is no money in the ATMs for the last 15 days. What should we do?

"They (the BJP-led government) asked us to give them 50 days (after demonetisation, for normalisation of financial transactions). We gave them 100 days, then 200 days. It is the job of the (Union) Finance Minister and the Finance Minister of Maharashtra. It is also the job of the Guardian Minister of Latur district to rectify the situation."

ROFL...Starnge to see ..how people in this forum change colors.. few days back, same people were cursing this politician for beating a 60 year old AI employee.. & today just because he talked against our PM, he's your hero..wah re wah! Lolz..

Just a small request, to all those people who back lashed Gaikwad earlier & now made him hero today:
Do not comment on politician changing colors, coz you yourselves are big "chameleon".

Moon man: In our times people stood by what they meant, if he's a culprit, he's a culprit!

One thing I have noticed after reading some comments over here is that people have very flawed principles. They will support the actions of a goon when it aligns with their beliefs. No wonder there are a number of politicians with criminal records in our parliament.

I really can't blame such politicians. They must be really admired for what they have done, i.e, getting elected by fooling people.

people who support Gaikwad have to think before commenting in support of him. would they have thought same about him if the assaulted elder member of your family and then did some ''good deed''?

This time thumps up to Gaikwad. When we do not get our own money, it is obvious to lose temper. However, it is not fair to argue with police officers. Instead, he should stage protest in front of Jootley's convoy and his residence. 15 days no money in the ATMs ? What a tragedy. Now Bhakts will realize the fake success of demonetization.

    Shankar,

What makes Mangalore police so special?

Agreed they are good in moral policing and catching cattle traffickers with the help of their right wing buddies. But apart from that, what they do they really do?

Instead of blaming Central Govt, Dist In-charge, Finance Minister, etc, etc,....he should talk to Bankers first why there is no money? Absolutely there is no problem anywhere else? Why only in place like Latur? Some time our Police too behave like useless guys.... They should have given him the usual treatment first and then talk.... Let him go on making complaint against Police if he wants?

This shows he is a true Hindu nationalist leader. He will not bow down to any pressure while performing his duties.
He has taken the irresponsible people for task...nothing wrong in that.
We need tigers like Gaikwad, who dare to challenge the ineffective system in our country.

First of all you should come out from the well you are dwelling. De-box yourself and take fresh air. Any religion, including Hinduism do not support fanaticism.

I don't understand why 31 readers of this forum disagreed with the comment by Marati Maanus, Mangalore/Mumbai.

The first sentence may be out of place.

However for the remainder of his comment; does it infer that the 31 disagrees are from people who are comfortable with ATMs not dispensing cash for fifteen continuous days or are you directly or indirectly connected with the ATM operators?

I totally agree with Marati Maanus that we have ineffective system at all levels and at all places in India and do you know why? It is because of ineffective and spineless electorate like us, people with mentality who wont do anything in the first place to improve the system nor will they allow anyone else to do the needful.

Yes there is need for someone to shout and scream and pelt stones to wake up our administrators who are peacefully sleeping on taxpayer's money and yes we need 'Goons' if that's what you prefer to call them to do the dirty work, as until then there will be no progress in India.

Jossey, this time what wrong did you find with Gaikwad? Isn't he correct? "First he asked 50 days then 100 days now 200 days passed" Is there any improvement in your area? Didn't you see Feku was "crying baby" while begging for 50 days to correct his ADVENTURES bluff.

    I agree with you Amith;

if everything is right then the man on top takes the cake; when everything down under is wrong why shouldn't he be held accountable?

And to a certain extent Gaikwad was right even in his handling of the situation with Air India; sometimes you need to shout, scream and punch people to let them know the sufferings you endure.
