Mangalore: Police Officers Transferred

Mangalore, Mar 23: With the assembly elections just a couple of months away, the police department has effected several transfers of officers in the rank of inspectors on Thursday. 

Vinay A Gaonkar who was transferred from the Bunder police station to Bangalore will be back as inspector of the district special branch. 

South police station (Pandeshwar station) inspector Venkatesh Prasanna who has been serving in the district since 2004, has been transferred as the inspector of Udupi town. The post of South police inspector is vacant at present. 

Timmaiah has been transferred from Udupi to the Sullia Circle and Sullia inspector Sanjiv Naik has been transferred to the Birur Circle. 

T B Rajanna, who had earlier served as the inspector of DK DCIB, has come back to the same post after a brief period. He has replaced A D Nagaraj. Nagaraj has been transferred as the inspector of DCIB Chikmagalur. 

Inspector Belliyappa of the coastal security police has been transferred as the Bantwal circle inspector. Belliyappa had served as the S-I at Bantwal before taking charge as the S-I of the rural station and then inspector of CSP. 

Meanwhile, Lingappa has been transferred from Bantwal to Belthangady. 

Manjunath Kauri, who was the inspector of DCIB in Uttar Kannada, has been transferred as the Puttur town circle inspector. 

Jagadish has been transferred from Bangalore to the Surathkal Circle.
