2 policemen injured in French island shooting


Paris, April 27 (IANS): Two police officers were injured on Thursday in a shooting on the French island of Réunion by a suspected radical Islamist.

The suspect, who is believed to be in his 20s, shot at the policemen when they tried to arrest him, officials said.

It is immediately not known why the man was being arrested, Daily Mail reported. 

French officials have launched a counter-terrorism investigation into the shooting.
