New Delhi, May 3 (IANS): Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar on Wednesday summoned Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit and conveyed India's outrage and demanded action from Islamabad over the killing and barbaric mutilation of the bodies of two Indian soldiers by Pakistan Army personnel on May 1.

"Foreign Secretary summons Pak HC, conveys India's outrage, demands action against Pak soldiers and commanders responsible," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay tweeted.

The army's Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and the BSF's Head Constable Prem Sagar were killed and their bodies mutilated in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. 

According to reports, a Border Action Team (BAT), made up of Pakistani military and the terrorists it trains, was behind the heinous crime close to the Line of Control. 

"Foreign Secretary conveyed India's outrage at the killing and the barbaric act of mutilation of the bodies of two Indian soldiers on May 1, 2017, by Pakistan Army personnel," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

"It was significant that the attack was preceded by covering fire from Pakistani posts in Battal sector (in vicinity of village Battal)," it said.

"Blood samples of Indian soldiers that have been collected and the trail of blood on Roza Nala clearly shows that the killers returned across the Line of Control."
