Updated

Beltangady, May 5: A youth enticed by the mirage of one-sided love and hope of getting reciprocation for his love from the girl, either did not have time to think clearly or was not willing to to do so before succumbing to the urge to commit savagely act and kill Suresh Naik (30), resident of Maldange House in Malavantige village in the taluk. His plan, which was set to be doomed from the moment it was conceived, fell flat, and the main accused, Anand Naik, and his accomplices have been nabbed.

Surprisingly the person who masterminded the entire operation happened to be Anand Naik (35), resident of Navara Dharmagudi in the taluk and priest of Goddess Adishakti Mahamayi temple at Navara. He was already married with two kids, but this did not deter him from dreaming of having a second wife, in spite of being not sure whether the girl was ready to be his wife.

Victim - Suresh

Although the perpetrators of this crime did everything to destroy evidence to ensure that the police do not get any clues of this murder, like burning the body of the victim with petrol, and burning the documents the victim had brought with him for claiming money under 'Gangakalyana' scheme of the government as per the fake call he received, the criminals could not save themselves.

Anand has now left his wife and two children high and dry, spoiled the dreams of his own children, besides finding himself inside the jail, although as per his dream, he should have married the girl he loved and accepted her as his second wife. This incident goes on to prove that one should have practical approach in life, dreams do not come true if they ruin someone else's dreams, and crime does not pay.

Mangaluru: Murder and torching of youth in Beltangady - Police arrest six

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, May 4: Beltangady police have succeeded in cracking a case of murder and torching of a youth at Patrame near Dharmasthala that took place on April 30. They have arrested six persons related to this.

The victim, whose identity was not established earlier, has now been identified as Suresh (27).

Arrested persons are Anand (35) a priest of Sri Adhishakthi Mahammai Temple, Lokesh (34), Prakash (31), Nagaraj (39), Vinay (30) and Praveen, informed superintendent of police (SP) Bhushan Gulabrao Borase.

Addressing media here on Thursday May 4, the SP said, "On April 30, a charred body was found near Patrame within the Dharmasthala police limits. We later found out that there was a missing complaint lodged in Beltangady police station about a person named Suresh.

"During the investigation, material evidence was found near the spot and with the help of technical intelligence, accused Vinay was interrogated. Subsequently he revealed about the murder. Victim Suresh was supposed to get engaged on April 30 and the accused Anand opposed the engagement. He thus hatched this murder conspiracy along with the other 5 accused," SP added.

The accused took him in an Omni car and threatened Suresh not to get engaged, to which he refused. Suresh warned that he would complain to the police. The accused then strangled Suresh with the help of a nylon wire and burnt his body at Patrame," the SP revealed.

The operation was carried out by ASP Raveesh C R, Beltangady circle inspector Nagesh, Dharmasthala inspectors Rama Naik and Koragappa Naik, constables Praveen, Venkatesh, Viju, Paulose and others.

Accused appears to be an extremely sexually oriented n cruel person to commit such a crime. And he is a priest whom people go to perform holy rituals, n see what was filled in his corrupt brains!!

Incidentally, in recent times, priests of many religions have been caught committing crimes to quench their carnal desires!!

OMG, next time how does one go near a priest??
