Mangaluru, May 7: The cold-blooded double murder of Raynah Prabhu and her husband Naren Prabhu by the ex-boyfriend of their daughter Rachel in San Jose, US, has left Raynah's relatives in Bajpe here in a state of shock.
Raynah was born in Mumbai, but loved Mangaluru, the native place of her parents.
Lila Sequeira (nee Mathias) hailed from Karambar in Bajpe. She married Stephen Sequeira and shifted to Mumbai. Lila, also called Lilly by some, bore four children, all daughters, named Raynah, Ina, Diana and Zina. Raynah married Naren 23 years back after falling in love. Naren is a GSB from Mumbai with Coimbatore and Mangaluru connections.
Naren and Raynah had visited Mangaluru twenty years back when Rachel was a child. After that they did not get any opportunity to visit Mangaluru though they loved the region very much and were happy to be called Mangalureans.

Lila Sequeira, now 92, used to visit Mangaluru often. Her last visit was relating to the handing over of property to Mangaluru airport its expansion. Before that she had participated in an ordination ceremony of her relative in April 2016.
Lila Sequeira has many relatives in Karambar and Bajpe. Her brother Denis’ son Joseph Mathias, ex post office employee, and his son Wilfred Mathias live here. They both live in the house where Lila lived till her marriage.
Raynah and Naren migrated to the USA ten years back. Ina too is settled in the USA.
Lila Sequeira cannot travel to the USA now due to old age. Diana and Zina have left for the US to participate in funeral.
Lila's husband Stephen Sequeira passed away some years ago.
"It is sad to know about the tragedy. Lila aunty had last year visited our house. Every person has to die. But it is painful to note that Raynah and Naren were murdered,”' said Wilfred on behalf of the family.
