Lalu to stand trial in fodder scam cases: SC

New Delhi, May 8 (PTI): RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav will face trial in all four fodder scam cases with the Supreme Court today setting aside the Jharkhand High Court order.

The apex court, while setting aside the 2014 order which had stayed the trial against Yadav after conviction in one of the cases, said the high court should have been consistent in its findings and not have given different views for different sets of accused in a case.

It also pulled up the CBI for delay in filing appeal against the high court order in the case and said the probe agency's director should have looked into this important matter and deputed an officer to pursue the case.

The CBI has challenged the 2014 order of the Jharkhand High Court quashing four pending fodder scam cases against him on the grounds that a person convicted in one case could not be tried in similar cases based on same witnesses and evidences.

This is the wrath of Godhra Train Carnage victims.... Though every thing was crystal clear regarding "Hathya Khand"....but Lalu went ahead forming separate probe team and come up with different story when he was then Railway Minister during UPA regime.... People says after death there is no enmity but this same Lalu went ahead with this report by insulting innocent victims!!! Though it will take another 2 to 3 years to settle this case....but if Lalu alive till then sure he will go to jail

    Heights of Anti Modism
This case is of 1996 when Lalu was the CM of Bihar , in 2013 the high court had already convicted Lalu when UPA was in power at the centre , this was challenged in the SC and now it is Supreme court's turn , I don't understand why you see conspiracy in everything? Ridiculous

He will be acquitted due to lack of evidence. But Advani & co. will be convicted as there is solid proof available.
