Adult elephant knocked down by train in West Bengal


Kurseong, May 10 (IANS): An adult male elephant died after it was hit by a speeding train in West Bengal's Kurseong district on Wednesday, an official said.

"A full grown male elephant was found dead on the railway tracks passing through the Kiran Chandra tea estate," the officer told IANS. "It might have been knocked down by the Katihar Express.
