Kapil Mishra, on hunger strike against Arvind Kejriwal, attacked

New Delhi, May 10 (Zee News): Sacked Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra, who has been sitting in a hunger strike against Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal since morning, was roughed up by a man outside his residence in the national capital on Wednesday.

The attacker, identified as Ankit Bhardwaj, has been arrested by the Delhi Police.

According to a media report, Mishra, who was sacked by Kejriwal from him Cabinet and suspended from the primary membership of the party, a couple of days ago, was punched, his clothes torn and slapped repeatedly by the assaulter.

The attacker was roughed up by people present at the site and later handed over to the police. He is currently in the police custody.

When contacted, Kapil Mishra said if anyone harms the attacker then he would even stop drinking water. He also added that his supporters got hold of the attacker immediately after the incident.

"The man threatened me of dire consequences during the attack. I have never seen him before. However, I will not file any complaint in this regard," Mishra said.

He also said that he received an international phone call on Tuesday night threatening to "shoot me."

Without naming AAP in his speech, Mishra said there are a lot of people who have been troubled following his recent revelations on Arvind Kejriwal and hence are stooping to such levels.

He cleared that he wasn’t injured in the incident and added that he doesn’t need any security as God is with him.

Mishra today began his hunger strike demanding that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders reveal the details of funding for their foreign tours.

"I am sitting on a Satyagraha till I get clarification on details of international travel expenses of some senior AAP leaders. It is not a dharna but a satyagraha. I would like to send a message to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to put out the details of the foreign tours of his five leaders--Satyendra Jain, Ashish Khetan, Raghav Chaddha, Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak--in public domain," he had told reporters earlier.

Mishra was suspended from the AAP after his startling allegation that he witnessed Kejriwal accepting Rs 2 crore in a dodgy transaction.

On Tuesday, Mishra had challenged Kejriwal to contest elections against him.

"You are trying to remove me from the assembly, I challenge you to contest elections against me from any seat. Let’s fight the election from my Karawal Nagar seat or even your New Delhi seat. If you believe that people are with you, then I’m ready to resign,” Mishra said in the letter.
