Bengaluru : BJP dubs Congress government in state 'utter failure'

Bengaluru, May 12 (IANS): Terming the four-year rule of the Congress government in Karnataka an "utter failure", opposition BJP on Thursday slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for not mitigating the farmers' hardships in the drought-hit state.

"The Congress government in the state, which completes four years on Friday, has failed on all fronts, especially in mitigating the hardships of the drought-hit farmers across the state," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s state President B S Yeddyurappa told reporters here.

Listing 29 failures of the government in a charge-sheet, BJP's opposition leader in the assembly Jagadish Shettar said the state machinery had also failed to fully implement the various welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.

"Although the government had allocated Rs 41,439 crore for the irrigation projects, it released only Rs 32,326 crore for those over the last four years," charged Shettar.

The charge-sheet also blamed the government for farmers' suicides in the state.

"Karnataka is the second state in the country in terms of suicides by farmers, as 2,573 of them took their lives due to crop failure and inability to repay loans availed from money lenders and banks," lamented Shettar.

Citing a recent survey by the Delhi-based Centre for Media Studies, which found Karnataka to be the "most corrupt state" in the country, Yeddyurappa said the Chief Minister had no control on his corrupt ministers and officials.

"Siddaramaiah went on a march from Bengaluru to Ballari in July 2010 when he was the opposition leader, promising transparency in governance if his party was elected to power. He did nothing to prevent or stop it in the last four years," recalled Yeddyurappa, the BJP's first Chief Minister in the state from 2008-11.

Ballari is 310 km in the state's northern region from Bengaluru.

The BJP also criticised the Siddaramaiah government for the "deteriorating law and order" situation in the state.

"In Bengaluru alone, 1,24,655 criminal cases were registered during the last four years. Women are not safe in the city, as evident from 10,589 incidents of sexual harassment, murder, robbery, chain-snatching and dowry harassment against them during the Congress rule," asserted Shettar.

Quote "Karnataka is the second state in the country in terms of suicides by farmers,..........." lamented Shettar" unquote. Shettar, why are you shy to tell, which is the No.1 state in suicide? In spite of receiving enough fund from Feku, Isn't not Chaddi ruled state of Maharashtra??? Where as Karnataka get "ANDA" still Siddu doing his best to contain the nature's furry. Since the Chaddi people are only good for blaming and lying, you should be called "BLAMING JANARA PARTY "

    Mr. BSY,
Why are you worried so much ?? During your time as CM what Contribution you have done to Karnataka ? We Karnataka worried about Water and other things but you are worried about Election. First interact with your Central people and try to resolve the issues and then talk about Election and winning in Karnataka.

A party and leaders who brought 3 failed CMs in previous BJP govt now releases white paper on the performances of Congress Govt.

one simple example I traveled most part of the Karnataka by road and just check the modernization and widening of State roads .

U P and TELANGANA states appreciated Karnataka Model govt, development and adopted the principles.

In Digital India front.....Karnataka is Number one

HASEVUE MUKTA Karnataka leads in the world (UN report)

All development points are coming in Media as Ad and news item hence need not list here.

On the other and important side BJP/Leaders are well versed in paid surveys to tarnish Congress Govt as they did in TOI paper because Siddu can't be defeated easily.

Their BOOKLETS are waste paper as they are anticipating big defeat from Congress in Karnataka in next general Assembly election.

Look who is talking of govt failure. I know that congress is corrupt and I don't vote for this party but I find BJP more corrupt and also communal and I don't vote to this party also. However, I have to say when it comes to corruption and communal BJP is far ahead to congress. Take the mining scam as an example and for the first time in India we had a BJP CM and few leaders go behind bars for bribe which never happened during congress rule. So I feel BJP has no right to preach about corruption but check reality of their own background.

You are absolutely right. Pappu can not dig Bellary mine and loot Karnataka by 50,000 crores in just 5 years. Pappu may be a total failure in implementing cow slaughter bill and export beef to secure NO 1 PLACE in beef export in the world!!!!!
