Two bullion traders shot dead in Mathura


Lucknow, May 16 (IANS): Two bullion traders were shot dead in Uttar Pradesh late on Monday night. The assailants also injured two others and decamped with gold worth over Rs 4 crore, police said on Tuesday.

The two traders, brothers Vikas and Megh Agarwal - were gunned down in Mathura by unidentified assailants during the night, the official said.

They were at their shop when the bike borne assailants came and riddled them with bullets in Koylawali Gali.

A staff member and another person present were also injured in the attack. They were said to be critical.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh told IANS on phone that so far there has been no breakthrough in the twin murder case.

One trader died on the spot. The other succumbed to his injures at a nearby medical facility. Angry bullion traders have raised anti-government slogans.
