Panaji/London, Apr 1: Fiona MacKeown, mother of British teenager Scarlett Keeling killed in Anjuna beach in Goa, plans to have more forensic tests carried out on her daughter's body in the UK.
MacKeown is reaching here this evening along with the body of 15-year-old daughter. She plans to hold a funeral for Scarlett in the UK within the next three weeks.
According to reports in London on Monday, she wanted to bury her daughter on her land near Bideford in north Devon — and she will then return to Goa until "this is finished".
The British teenager, was found dead on Goa's popular Anjuna beach on February 18, 2008 and police have arrested two locals who allegedly drugged, raped and left Scarlett to die on the beach.
MacKeown has been battling the Goan authorities ever since they initially said Scarlett's death was an accidental drowning. The 43-year-old has alleged that links between police officials, politicians and drugs mafia were hampering a proper investigation.
Following a second autopsy, at the behest of MacKeown, detectives said Scarlett was given ecstasy, cocaine and LSD on the night she died.
Police have arrested two men, Samson D'Souza, 28, who was remanded in custody on suspicion of rape, and Placido Carvalho, aged between 30 and 35, who has appeared in court on suspicion of drugging Scarlett and assisting in the murder by that act.
A pathologist's report said Scarlett was killed by drowning after her head was pushed under water for between five and 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, MacKeown's lawyer has demanded an investigation by Scotland Yard into the murder.
