Barkati removed from post of Shahi Imam

Kolkata, May 17 (IANS): Maulana Noor-ur Rehman Barkati was on Wednesday sacked from the post of Shahi Imam of the Tipu Sultan Mosque here.

On Monday, a police complaint was lodged against Barkati, who had threatened 'jihad' and refused to take off the beacon from his vehicle, by the mosque's trustee board.
