On March 25, Amboji Naresh married 20-year-old Tummala Swathi and were living in Mumbai. After a few days, Swati's father Srinivas Reddy had invited the young couple to their hometown Bhongir, around 40 km from Hyderabad, promising to accept their marriage and his new son-in-law. But when the couple arrived in Bhongir on May 2, Swati was reportedly taken away by her father, and the Naresh went missing and not yet found.
To retort her father, Swati reportedly drank toilet cleaning fluid. She was immediately admitted in hospital and was saved after a stomach-wash. But soon after she was released to go home, she was brought back to hospital by her parents, who claimed she was found hanging. The hospital declared her dead.
Swati's father, Srinivas Reddy accused Naresh of torturing his daughter and has filed a case of dowry harassment against him. Naresh's father said it isnt truth and he went to court to report the sudden death of Swati and urged that her post mortem be video graphed. He also raised questions about the safety of his son, and on whether Swati killed herself.
