Ex-driver accused of injuring fashion designer held

New Delhi, May 20 (IANS): A driver who attacked and injured a 27-year-old fashion designer with a knife was arrested here, police said on Saturday.

Anil, who was infuriated over being sacked from job, was arrested on Friday night from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station, police said.

According to police, Anil disclosed that he attacked Kaveri to take revenge for being sacked as a driver within 10 days of his hiring.

"Anil was sacked as a driver within 10 days of his hiring by Kaveri's family. He went to her house on Sunday (May 14) and asked the victim to move her car, as it was obstructing the movement of his new employer's car," police said.

When Kaveri stepped out and sat inside the car to move it, Anil attacked her with a knife.

She was admitted to Max Hospital in Saket with injuries on her neck. She is out of danger now.
