Panaji, May 23: The third children’s festival ‘Majja’ organized by Abhinav Creationz fetched great response. A total of 75 children participated in the festival which saw children learning poetry, art, craft, science etc in an innovative manner. The festival was held at Porvorim and Margao.

“The whole intention of the festival was to lessen the burden of the children and engage them in jolly activities,” said Anwesha Singbal of Abhinav Creationz. “I have seen summer camps becoming a burden for children. We wanted to refrain from doing so,” she further added.

“We are overwhelmed by the response we got. The response is increasing every year,” said Amol Kamat of Abhinav Creationz.

“In modern times when kids spend more time with gadgets, the opportunities for experiential learning are shrinking. “Well organised summer camps like Majja allow kids to get out of their virtual world and experience the real world through joyful collective learning,” said a parent whose child has been consistently attending Majja for the last two years.

Children were taken for an outing on the last day that brought them closer to nature. They were also awarded certificates.

Children learnt several important concepts of science through experiments. Rajashree Thakur Gaunekar and Somu Rao guided them in this field while Ratnamala Divkar taught poetry and Tanvi Kamat Bambolkar taught theatre to children. Kalanand Bambolkar and Satyam Acharya guided them in drawing while Patricia Brito Rodrigues and Anwesha Singbal engaged them in storytelling. Anishka Palekar and Sayali Sawant Talaulikar taught the children craft and narrated stories to them. Isha Kurade and Riya Prabhudesai engaged them in dance. Savita Talkatnal, Ciana Pires Cardozo and Devika Sardesai also assisted in making the festival a huge success.
