Bantwal, Apr 5: The museums which preserve and promote the culture are like mirrors. One should learn the historical significance of the things preserved in museums, instead of valuing them, said Dr N S Rangaraju, chairman of Mysore University history and archeological department.

Speaking at the national seminar organized by Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre and ‘Tulu Baduku’ museum on Saturday April 5, he said that, the number of museums has increased in the country and this has helped in study of history and culture, he opined.

Dr Taltaje Vasantkumar of Kannada Department of Mumbai University, in his keynote address said that a lot of historical objects are available for the study of Tulu culture. But the historians have failed to use them effectively, he added.

V B Arthikaje, retired history lecturer, presided over the function.

Tukaram Poojary, president of Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre, delivered introductory remarks. Ashalatha Suvarna proposed vote of thanks. Wilson Prabhakar and Denis Fernandes compered the programme.

Mr. Tukaram Poojary work and dedication is proved in this Mega Museum. Its a wonderful to look at the Tulu Folk Life Museum, at the same time one has to feel the pain behind this collection. Always we say the folk material or fossils collection is not an easy job, the real difficulty is yet to begin to preserve it for the next generation. I congratulate Mr. Tukaram Poojary and his family for such a dedicated mega work they have shown through ‘Tulu Baduku’ museum .

Its proved that you have dedicated this museum to the Nation. I feel the ‘Tulu Baduku’ museum has become a roll model to the University and each State. I wish let this museum grow up an International Museum, let the world people visit this centre and enrich the Tulu folk life by looking at the great heritage resources. Certainly its right of every citizen of this country (specially Coastal Karnataka people) should come forward and donate generously to carry over the work for next generation. Please accept our thanks and congratulations on the success of your achievement of ‘Tulu Baduku’ museum which highlight the real folk life of Tulu people, folk-life of Coastal Karnataka.. I looked in detail the picture cum report in Daijiworld , MR. Tukaram Poojary has proved a model to University by constructing A Mega Museum of Tulu People.

Thanks again for such uplifting coverage through website, thanks for wonderful coverage. Thank You
