Second BJP leader in Meghalaya quits over cattle slaughter rules

Tura (Meghalaya), Jun 6 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Meghalaya suffered yet another major political setback when one more senior party member quit over the Centre's new cattle trade and slaughter rules.

Bachu Marak, the district president of the BJP in North Garo Hills, alleged that BJP leaders were "attempting to impose its non-secular ideology on the indigenous people in Meghalaya".

Bachu Marak's resignation came after Bernard Marak's, who as the district president of the BJP in West Garo Hills, had accused that the leaders of the party were "not respecting the tradition and culture of the indigenous people".

"As a responsible leader, I cannot mislead the people and allow them (BJP) to impose the non-secular ideology on us. They cannot impose the beef ban in our state," Marak told IANS over phone.

"Beef is one of our traditional diet and no government can restrict people's food habit. The moment they impose such restriction the ruling party would surely lose people's confidence," he said.

State BJP President Shibun Lyngdoh, however, dismissed Marak's claim.

"He (Bachu Marak) is making such statement to mislead the people. The party has no intention to impose any anti-constitutional measures to the people. The objective of (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi government is to ensure all round development across India," Lyngdoh told IANS.

Last week, some BJP leaders in the state had threatened to quit the party if the central government refused to repeal the new cattle trade and slaughter rules.

"Most party leaders in Meghalaya are not happy with the new rules which are directly affecting the socio-economic status of the people," BJP Vice President John Antonius Lyngdoh said.

"We cannot accept the new rules on cattle trade and slaughter. We cannot go against our food behaviour besides putting the economic interest of those people dealing in cattle trade and slaughter in jeopardy," he said.

Instead of Development and " Saab Ke Sath Saab Ka Vikas" Politics over cattle slaughter, Love Jihad, Moral Policing etc are being resorted to divert the attention of the people. Theres no way we could aspire to be a Super Power with such petty Politics.

Aren't the adjacent toiled fully covered by side wall up to the ceiling?
Hindustan or India having majority Hindus and they are following their faith and rituals according to their religion does not mean that rest should follow what they wish. Religious faith and respect and sentiments should not be condemned by others. Here the question is consuming Cattle meat which has nothing to do with Cow meat. Why Supreme Court passes law on the slaughter of rest of the animals.

BJP's true color being exposed in the passing of time. They want to rule India to introduce their own wish & will by force disregarding secular norms and people's choice of eating. Few days back I saw a cartoon which reads:
    World is moving forward
    India towards Coward.
In the modern histrory of the World Nations it is only Indian (BJP) government that stands on the helm of domestic affairs to snatch and introduce dictatorial rule over people. Cow sentiments will not bring badly needed developments it ceates restlessness throuhout India.

The only subject this government is interested in is cows and in taking credit for all the UPA projects which they started and almost completed. During the UPA rule they opposed all these projects and did not allow the parliament to function. They accused the UPA with drummed up corruption charges and even after 3 years in power have not been able to substantiate or prove any of those peddled lies. Prices have skyrocketed for food, medicines and fuel. Economy is in shambles. Kashmir situation has worsened, law and order does not exist in BJP ruled states where innocents are lynched. Murderers are equated with freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh. No black money has returned, The ill conceived demonetization has ruined the economy. Even after introducing new methods at calculating the GDP growth the growth has fallen to 6.1% and with the old method of calculation it is down to 4%. End result after 3 years is all round failure.

When the govt has not banned the eating of Beef, why the goons are barging in to houses, to find out what the inmates are eating and what they have stored in fridges... Let them go to slaughter houses, to find out which animals are slaughtered for meat ....These goons do not know the difference between Cow and cattle... These goons have only word in their bheja ,,ie cow.....
check the figures of beef export, it contains 62 % of cow meet... these goons do not have any courage to raid the beef export houses .....goons and govts are all hypocrites ....

This beef and cow politics will be one of the major reason why BJP will lose 2019 elections.
Instead of focusing on real issues like giving benefits to farmer who are into cow farming, they are into this cheap politics of goondagiri . The real problem is cow theft from farmers cow shed, yes that is real. But , for that one can not ban beef. If they are so much interested in cow protection then why not ban beef exports from India ?
Dear BJPians wake up and stop doing this cow politics. There are other important issues which need attention and focus.

Beef is traditional diet for most of the north-east people. So political leader will not dare to peep into citizen's kitchen. If they do, people will teach them right lesson. This is the reason for BJP leaders worry.

Not possible in Cow India... see what happened in UP.... 250 people were booked by Police for resisting the search in their fridges in their houses,
These goons have free hand in barging in to any house in the pretext of searching beef..... The goons do not know the difference between COW and CATTLE... all are same for these goons...

COWS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BJP DEFEAT IN COMING ELECTIONS.

AADHAR CARD. CONGRESS IDEA. OPPOSED BY BJP

GST BILL. CONGRESS IDEA. OPPOSED BY BJP

KASHMIR BRIDGE WAS INAUGURATED BY MANMOHAN. RIBBON CUTTING BY MODI.

NIRMAL BHARAT PROGRAM BY CONGRESS WAS RENAMED BY MODI SWATCH BHARAT.

    SHAMELESS COPYCATS.

BJP'S OWN IDEA IS ONLY BEEF BAN. WHICH IS ALSO GETTING FLOP.
