New Delhi, Jun 12: BJP's National spokesperson Sambit Patra attempted to take a dig at NDTV with ‘fake news’, and later deleted it after the channel clarified that it never published such data.
The 42-year old leader re-tweeted a story by the Times of Islamabad website which quoted 'Make in India turned out to be flop show, reveals data by NDTV' - Patra retweeted by adding 'Hmmm ...Agenda!!'
However, NDTV soon responded to the Sambit Patra claiming that the story was fake and also does not refer anywhere to NDTV. 'We are wrongly named in the headline and URL. Please issue a clarification', the NDTV commented.
Realising the goof up of posting an unverified tweet, Patra deleted it, but not before falling into the scrutiny of the twitterati who attributed the blame game between the two as a continuation of stalemate between Sambit and NDTV anchor Nidhi Razdan.
It can be recollected that during a live-debate on cow-slaughter, Sambit was ousted by the anchor for accusing the channel of 'running an agenda' and his request for 30 second time to clarify his position was declined. Following the show Sambit had then tweeted - 'And when You call this an "Agenda" ...then they pull out the camera from you ...'
After deleting his tweet on Monday, Sambit once again tweeted. 'Do I not have FOE to call out a Pak publication (real not FAKE) which runs an anti India AGENDA? Why are some riled?'
