Mangalore: Silver Bells - Nine Priests Complete 25 years of Priesthood

Mangalore, Apr 17: It was celebration time at Milagres Church here as 9 senior priests celebrated 25 years of their priesthood in the presence of their near and dear on Thursday April 17 morning. Fr Walter D'Mello, Fr Apolonaris Crasta, Fr Alban D'Souza, Fr George D'Souza, Fr Joseph Lobo, Fr Jerald Victor D'Souza, Fr Antony Lobo, Fr Valerian D'Souza and Fr Richard Francis Lasrado who completed 25 years of their sacerdotal life gathered round the Altar to praise and thank God for his bountiful blessings which helped them live their commitment to God and people to the fullest.
The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist which was celebrated by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore. Nine priests who completed 25 years of priesthood attired in silver vestments concelebrated the Eucharist along with hundreds of priests and religious who had converged from all over the diocese.
Fr Santhosh Kamat preached an inspiring homily on the occasion. Melodious singing by the parish choir was one of the main attractions of the celebration.
A short felicitation programme was organized in the church which was presided over by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza. He felicitated the jubilarians by draping the shawl. In his felicitation message, he commended the services of jubilarians to Mangalore diocese and Holy Church at large.
Fr Francis Lewis, director of Sandesh College of Fine Arts compered the stage programme.
