Dubai, Apr 19: The sprawling green picturesque setting at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club seemed like a perfect stage for the  artistes as well as the music and fun lovers who thronged the venue for the  “Emirates Paradela Musical Spectacular” on Friday evening in Dubai.

Although an odd location right in the middle of nowhere if one may say so, they came from all corners of the Emirates in buses and all sorts of vehicles and made themselves comfortable at the vast setting that was arranged by Emirates Paradela.  Surely, when everyone left the scene of action, they must have realized that the trip was worth  not only for the sake of fine entertainment but also for the laudable cause of the organizers.

Year after year, Emirates Paradela  have always come up with something unusual and this year it was no different.  For that matter, this year the  enthusiastic Paradela group found a lovely though odd venue to showcase their event in fine style.

The attractions on stage were many just like the distractions off the stage too.  Many were dressed to kill while others found the setting much to their liking.  As the evening began to unfold, comperes Jonathan and Melita started promptly and promisingly too. When  the skies above closed for the day, it was time to rock the place with Goa’s ‘Sky High’ who as is their wont started making waves all over the place with their solid mind boggling style.  The fire in this  band is to be seen to be believed and their energy is spellbinding.  However, one must say that the band found it hard to get going in their first session and played all over the place with no fixed music in place.  It was only in the second place that they found their rhythm after establishing the pulse of the crowd.  From hereon, there was no stopping ‘Sky High’ as they belted popular numbers in more than one language much to the delight of the crowded dance floor.

Next on  stage were the high sounding singers from the reality world, Irfan and Sumitra Iyer from the Indian Idol show who outshone each other while keeping up the harmony on the singing front.  For both the singers, this was an opportunity to impress their followers who have watched them on tv.  Sumitra shone with her peppy numbers while Irfan settled for the mellow mood and also sang a few duets.

They had great company with so many tiny tots swamping the stage and timing their movements which was appreciated by the singers.  The crowd were on their toes quite early and enjoyed every bit.

As the evening wore on, with some fine and pleasantly cool wind blowing, there was a lovely picnic like atmosphere prompting everyone to have a go on the dance floor.  With plenty of music on offer, everyone was catered to with a variety of numbers in almost all languages.

The beautiful Nadia,  although seemingly bulging at the wrong places made the crowd yell  as she belly danced to glory for 3 beautiful Arabic numbers.  However, all the cheers were reserved for the romantic Latino Dancers who excelled not only with their fine movements but also some  fantastic costumes.  Brazil, Spain and France were  all rolled into one in Dubai and there was more than tango alone as the Latino dancers thrilled the onlookers with some classy acts.

In a pre event talk, the organizers had spoken highly about the Latino Dancers.  The  dancers with nimble feet did not leave anything to chance and pleased everyone with their graceful style and movement.  The music selection  was perfect and each and every soul had their fill when they repeatedly cheered the dancers.

With a galaxy of prizes and a host of dignitaries gracing the occasion, the cause of the Emirates Paradela group was well served.  With such a mammoth venue, the organizers must have planned and executed everything with great planning.  Hats off to Emirates Paradela who delivered what they promised.  Being an evening event unlike their earlier programmes and a new and unknown venue at that, the end result was satisfying.  The entertainment dished out was worth the cause with such a fine star cast which augurs well as they plan more such events in the future.

Though the patience of the crowd was tested in the beginning, the show picked up very well once started. It was a fantabulous event packed with melodious music and mindblowing dance. Irfan & Sumitra outshone each other with some good numbers....

Nadia ensured the organisors to keep the crowd with open eyes..... Latino Dancers excelled with great dance movements. The credit should go to Sky High for keeping the dance floor always crowded... Though the crowd was expecting a Grand Baila, it was nice to cheer for some great Lorna Hitz at the end. In total it was a great weekend with good exercise for the entire body. Thanks to Emirates Paradela!!!
