Dubai, Apr 23: An Indian man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for murder after stabbing a work colleague in the stomach following a violent altercation.
The 22-year-old man was handed the sentence after the judge heard evidence of the fight, which occured at the mens’ workplace.
The victim walked into his office to discover the guilty man sleeping, and after challenging the man, an arguement broke out during which the victim was stabbed in the stomach.
The man staggered out onto the street with the weapon still embedded in his body, where he was discovered by passers-by who called paramedics.
After he was rushed to hospital, police questioned him about the incident and he was able to identify his attacker.
The man died from his wounds one month later after efforts by doctors to save him were unsuccessful.
The guilty man will be deported from the country after serving his sentence.
