Robbers open fire at woman, steal bangles


New Delhi, Jul 10 (IANS): Four bike-borne robbers fired shots at a woman travelling in an auto rickshaw here on Sunday evening as they stole her gold bangles, a police officer said.

The officer said that the 54-year-old woman sustained injuries as the robbers tried to steal her bangles, but noted these were not from gun shots.

The incident happened at around 6.45 p.m. in Shakarpur area of east Delhi, hardly three-four km from the Delhi Police's headquarters.

The officer said that passersby who witnessed the incident called police and added that the woman had sustained no major injuries.
