Rahul Gandhi not Prime Ministerial candidate for Congress in 2019 elections?

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi, Jul 15: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi may not be the Prime Ministerial candidate for Congress in the upcoming 2019 General Elections.

According to multiple sources, Congress is taking a strategic shift to defeat BJP in the upcoming elections and party veterans, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi are retaking the reins of the party.

Though there is a speculation that Rahul Gandhi may be promoted as Congress chief within the party circles, certain Congress sources claim that they are not confident to make him the face of the party and pit him against Modi.

It is interesting to note that on Thursday, the Congress formed a new Communication Committee which mostly included party’s seniors like P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mani Shankar Aiyar and Jairam Ramesh.

Sources also confirm that Congress is planning to fight Assembly elections upcoming in many states, under the leadership of old leaders rather than relying on Rahul’s youth brigade.

Also, it was Sonia Gandhi who tried to forge a joint opposition for Presidential elections. It was again, Sonia who tried to intercede to end the growing rupture in Bihar Grand Alliance of JD(U), RJD and Congress. These facts clearly hint that the party’s ‘old guards’ have already started taking major decisions.

Congress has been suffering massive defeats after it lost the 2014 elections. The party which was ruling in 13 states currently holds power in only 6. In Assembly elections held this year, Congress lost in Uttar Pradesh, Goa and even Manipur.

Congress will be also ran in 2019 elections. They should prepare for 2024 not 2019. Modi is unbeatable at this time and rightly so. We need decisive leaders and clean governance. Communal incidents will keep happening no matter which party rules. Rahul is a good hearted person, but is paying for the blunders that congress committed in the form of minority vote bank politics. BJP did the same thing with Majority community and is now unstoppable.

Nitesh is the right Candidate and it's wise to keep Rahul away as can do other organisational jobs and lift the party OR even consider retirement from Politics as he too fine a human being.
Democracy has to be saved at any cost.

India is today a democracy only for namesake and in-spite of getting a firm majority the Country is being run like a coalition and the ruling party has achieved nothing and still keeps blaming the Congress and harps on its 67 years of misrule . In reality the various schemes of the past have been renamed and credit has been taken by the ruling party for good happenings which are very few.

To have a partime Defence Minister who has really goofed the Finance Ministry is a huge blunder. It looks as if there is no other Capable Minister in the ruling party fit to Don the mantle of the Defence Minister who ran back to his home town in a great hurry .

Forget about the PM Candidate….they can’t win the next Lok Sabha Election even with the Grand Alliance of all Opposition Parties… Unfortunately CONGiss made new Communication Committee which mostly included party’s seniors like P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mani Shankar Aiyar and Jairam Ramesh!!! All of them are most wanted person for some other reasons!!! They should have included one more name, i.e. Diggi Singh…. Then the tally would have been “Dirty Half-Dozen”!!!

So now Congress should save Gandhi name...
We can get many Gandhi named persons in a country of 125 crore people...
Search must be on for Gandhi....
Next best alternative should be Oscar atleast...

Kamath mamu.....You are a pro BJP man.

So it's better you mind your own business being a honest "Bhakt" of FEKU Modiji instead of interfering in Congress's internal political matters.

Modiji had indeed fooled this countrymen once for 5 years and all of them are paying dearly under their nose on all counts for their decision to select him as their "Lier" leader.

He cannot fool the same electorate again and again Mr. Kamath mamu

I do not know whether your reaction is for my comment as it is addressed to Kamathmam.Anyhow since comment is annexed to mine, let me clarify.I confess that I am a bjpian and I have no hesitation.Being bjpian is not a crime as is it being portrayed so in dw by vested interests.Again, I am not a blind bhakth of any party/person more so of Congress .But I respect Janardhan Poojary like persons.
Present BJP is not ok in all respects.I see many of its policies are pro rich and common people are suffering.Eg. IT slab of 2.50 lakhs was not as BJP promised before election.Still unchanged is anti people. For the present BJP has no alternative.

First of all let me apologies to you instead of Mr. Prabhu mam...I addressed earlier as Kamath mam.

You being straight forward and honest enough to anticipate what the party(BJP) said before they came into power and ruined today the common man's peaceful life and most of the lower middle class is clueless about their future.

Difference of opinions can exist in a democracy. But certainly a man who has given false promises and shown them the stars and rosy pictures has not kept his word or promises.
In fact he has almost taken a big "U" turn or kept "MUM" on many burning issues which people of this country reposed faith in him. He is roaming freely outside the country and has no time to discuss issues in the parliament. Dr. Manmohan Singh has rightly said when he was asked by the reporters about his opinion about if Modijee becomes the Prime Minister of this country...Dr. Manmohan Singh's polite reply was.... it would be disastrous for the country if Modi becomes P.M and time has proved him almost right and rest of the two years will spell him 100% correct.

Indian economy has been pushed back at least 10 years from how strong it was even during global melt down days!!! and see the situation today on all sectors. Show me one capable leader in their team other than Mr. Hasmukh Adhia.

Today Rahul Gandhi is called "Pappu"but not "Fake".....He doesn't pretend and act like a saint for votes.....He lives his life....

Lady who was called the "Gungi Gudiya"---- was responsible in dividing Pakistan,
Lady who was called the "Gungi Gudiya"----was responsible for Nationalising major private sectors and opening them to all the sections of the country.
Lady who was called the "Gungi Gudiya"----made India the Nuclear Power know the world's 5th powerful in defense.
Lady who was called the "Gungi Gudiya"---Single handedly saved Punjab from getting separated from India.
Lady who was called the "Gungi Gudiya"---Refused to change the Sikh body guards, despite Intelligence report clearing requesting her to change, she refused by saying "Sikhs are very much Indian's like all of us, If we change them The Indian Govt will be a wrong signal and they will further divided from India. If my death is written no one can change it".

Indira Gandhi before getting elected as the Prime Minister had the title "Gungi Gudiya" but she proved everyone wrong and went on to become the best Prime minister India has ever produced.......

Rahul has been projected by Modis social media managers has Pappu....Some how Rahul Gandhi should come out of this image and prove himself.

    indira gandhi's achivements:
1.The Shimla Blunder:She released 90,368 Pak soldiers after the 1971 war without much in return except a sovereign promise by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to work towards making
Line of Control the International Boundary between two countries.
2.Guilty of Corruption:In the 1971 parliamentary elections, Indira defeated Raj Narain, who then filed a case against her. Mrs Gandhi was found guilty of dishonest election practices, excessive election expenditure, and of using government machinery and officials for party purposes like using the state police to build a dais, availing the services of a government officer, Yashpal Kapoor, during the elections before he had resigned from his position, and use of electricity from the state electricity department.
3.Emergency:In the days following the verdict of 1975, Jai Prakash Narayan announced a daily demonstration not only in Delhi but also in every state until Indira would resign. He also appealed Army to refuse her and abide the constitution.Eventuality of the Emergency
    :
Detention of people by police without charge or notification of families
Abuse and torture of detainees and political prisoners
Use of public and private media institutions, like the national television network Doordarshan, for government propaganda
    Forced sterilization.
Destruction of the slum and low-income housing in the Turkmen Gate and Jama Masjid area of old Delhi.
Large-scale and illegal enactment of laws (including modifications to the Constitution).
    4.Financial crisis:
During 1980s, Indira's administration failed to arrest the 40 percent fall in the value of the Indian Rupee from 7 to 12 to the US Dollar.
5.Perpetuator of Dynastic politics:She promoted her younger son Sanjay Gandhi in the party, and when he died in an air crash in 1980, she made sure her elder son Rajiv was seen as a prospective leader.
