Panaji: Megahit 'Sophiya' turns in crowds at grand premiere

Panaji, Jul 24: Blockbuster Konkani movie 'Sophiya - a dream girl', Costalwood's first female film producer Janet Noronha under the banner Janet Noronha Productions, saw its grand premiere in Goa at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on July 17.

The show screened at 7:30 pm, witnessed a hustling crowd of roughly 700 people, who thoroughly enjoyed the movie and could not resist applauding at the end of the presentation. The movie has opened to positive response from the Goan audience and the makers have announced its next screening at the same venue on the August 1 at 7:30 pm again.

'Sophiya' stars multi-lingual actress/singer Ester Noronha, Elton Mascarenhas and Goan comedian Prince Jacob in prime roles. Directed by the Noshibacho Khell fame Harry Fernandes, the film released in coastal Karnataka on May 12 to packed houses.


    










































The grand premiere was organised as a fund-raising campaign by the Lions Club of Navelim headed by Trevor Mascarenhas. Producer Janet Noronha, director Harry Fernandes, Ester Noronha, Elton Mascarenhas, Prince Jacob and prominent Konkani poet, writer and one of the lyricists of the movie Ancy Paladka were present at the event and received a lot of appreciation and wishes from the audience.
