Mangaluru: Anil-Laveena's Konkani music album 'Nasha' released in splendid ceremony

Mangaluru, Jul 31: The much-awaited Konkani music album 'Nasha' by the musical husband-wife duo Anil and Laveena, was released in a glittering ceremony by Fr J B Saldanha, parish priest, St Sebastian Church Permannur, at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall at St Vincent Ferrar Church, Valencia, on Sunday, July 30.

Fr Anil Wilfred D Souza, director, Family Life Centre Bajjodi, blessed the album and invoked God’s blessings.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Saldanha said, “It is my pleasure to release Anil and Laveena’s third music album. As they are members of my parish, I know them very well and their service to our parish and community has been highly appreciated. Today, they have completed their dream project 'Nasha'. I wish them all the success for their future projects.”

Lauding the efforts of the couple, Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief and founder of Daijiworld said, “Anil and Laveena are a talented couple in the Konkani community. Their dedication and commitment is the secret behind their success. I had noticed their efforts during the time of the recording. It is inspirational and thought-provoking. Today, they are happy because they have earned the results for their efforts. I hereby congratulate them and wish that the album will make waves in the Konkani world."

Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Mandd Sobhann said, “Anil is my student, I am happy for him for his music album. It is not an easy job to release music albums nowadays. But, Anil and Laveena decided to do something for Konkani in Konkani. They did not mind the expense. It is a brave and daring step. So, it is now our turn to support them in their venture. We should support them buying the music album. This is the best way we can support them.”

Valentine D’Souza, assistant commissioner of police, CCRB expressed his love for mother tongue Konkani and said, “I love music and compositions especially in my mother tongue Konkani. As per my experience, it gives us mental and physical freshness. Music is a good friend to keep us happy at the time of loneliness. Anil and Laveena are doing a great job in the field of music. Today, they have gifted us some nice songs to hear. On this occasion, I congratulate them and wish all success for their future."

Joseph Mathias, managing director, Merit Freight Systems; Naveen Ranjith, director, Kenel Veen; lyricist Wilson Kateel and musician Roshan D'Souza Angelore were felicitated on the occasion.

Laveena, Babitha, Robin Sequeira, and Rony Crasta, sang some songs from Anil and Laveena’s music albums. Comedy cousins Maniyampare entertained the audience with their comedy skits. Nach Sobhann and Velocity dance crews enthralled the gathering with their performance. TV anchor and cine actor Alwyn Danthy compered the event.

Singer Claud D'Souza, Fr Victor D’Souza, parish priest, Kayyar; Fr James, parish priest of Valencia; Fr Naveen Pinto, Wilson Saldanha, Tony Bejai, advocate Mohan and others were present.


About Nasha

'Nasha' consists of 13 songs, rich in poetic style and melody, touching upon social issues besides the theme of love and romance. The songs are carefully picked to suit the taste of the listeners across genres

The music of the album has been composed by Anil and Laveena, arranged by the musician of 'generation' fame Roshan D'Souza, and has been recorded at Daijiworld Audio Visual studio and studio five. Renowned sound engineer Srinivas from Chennai has mixed and mastered the music.

Besides rendering their voice for this album, Anil and Laveena have given an opportunity to talented singers and young sensations, including the winner of Daijiworld Studio Voice, Nihal Tauro.

The famous stars of Konkani music Dr Prashanth Raj, Rony Crasta, Prajoth D'Sa, Babitha Pinto, Shilpa Cutinha, Munita Rao, and Meera Crasta have rendered their voices.

An array of upcoming singers Naveen D'Souza, Ashwin D'Costa, Morvine Quadras, and Arun Danthy have brought fresh breeze of music to the album.

Renowned lyricist Wilson Kateel has penned 11 songs while Melwyn Antony and Austine Sailns have written the other two.
