Jubail: Well-known Mangalorean Expat Qanbar Saleem No More

Jubail, May 6: Sayyed Mohammed Saleem of Mangalore died of cardiac arrest on Friday May 2 here in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia. He is survived by his mother, wife and two young daughters. Shocked and saddened by the sudden demise of a very popular and friendly personality who was only 42, hundreds of people thronged Al-Mana General Hospital to have the last glimpse of the deceased.
Everybody had a word of praise for him, as he was very popular among Jubail and Dammam expat communities. Popularly known as Qanbar Saleem, he was an employee of Qanbar Dywidag Ltd. He was laid to rest on Monday May 5 at Jubail Cemetry in the presence of some of his relatives and a huge number of well-wishers.
Incidentally, his father Mohammed too died here in Jubail some 8 years ago and was laid to rest in the same cemetery where his son is now buried. He too served in Qanbar Dywidag for many years.
Saleem was a front runner and active in every community welfare activity. He was in the limelight in all community service activities extending an able and wholehearted assistance, either steering, organizing or conducting programmes.
A condolence meeting has been arranged on initiation of Zakaria Anabeeb to express solidarity with the family of the deceased on Thusrday May 15 after Isha prayer at Jubail Corniche. All the members of Mangalorean expatriate community in Jubail- Dammam zone are kindly requested to attend.
