Mangaluru: Various associations under ‘Justice for Kavya Forum’ to hold mega rally on Aug 9

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Aug 3: ‘Justice for Kavya Forum’ has decided to a hold a mega rally on August 9 in city” said Forum convener Anil Das in a press meet in city on Thursday, August 3

“Various associations have been organising agitations in Dakshina Kannada since last 12 days relating to the unnatural death of Kavya , a student of Alva's institution in Moodbidri. It means police have not succeeded in giving a clear picture on the death to the parents and society,” he said.

“It indicates police department is not much interested in this case. But now all organisations that are supporting Kavya’s family for justice have come under the forum ‘Justice for Kavya '. The forum has decided to fight for justice on one platform and organise a rally on August 9 in city,” he informed.

“The rally will start from Ambedkar Circle at 10 am and will end in front of DC’s office. After the mass protest in front of DC’s office, we will submit a memorandum to DC demanding justice for Kavya. Already more than 30 organisations have confirmed their participation in the rally. We are not using any flags, association banners or slogans against any party, institution or religion. So we appeal to public to join this protest in large numbers," he requested.

“This protest is not against any institution. We are only demanding a proper investigation on Kavya’s unnatural death. ACP Rajendra is the investigation officer. But relatives and public are pointing fingers at him for his partiality. We are wondering as to how police gave him charge to investigate this case. We need transparent investigation," he said.

"Alva’s institution did not gain popularity on its own. Students are the main reason for its popularity. But one MLC who got elected in education quota and other person who heads different educational institutions are saying through media that the agitators are trying to defame the institution’s name. First off all we are condemning their statement and inviting them to join with us because the institution gained its fame from talented students like Kavya. If they are supporting the popularity of the institution, then they should stand with students.” he concluded.

Dinakar Shetty the member of forum said, "We are not responsible for the defaming comments and news which are being circulated in social media. Our goal is only to give justice for Kavya and her parents. We will continue our fight till we get justice and compensation for Kavya."

Social worker Robert Rosario said "Yesterday ACP went to Kavya’s house and questioned her mother over the case. After the long hours of questioning, she fainted. The FIR and postmortem copy have not been given to the family yet. It indicates foul play in Kavya’s death. So we will never stop our fight until truth comes out,"

Vishnumurthy, B. F Pinto, Praveen Bangera, Raghuveer Sooterpete and Vijayashree were present in the press meet.

Mr. Vishal you look like a supporter or follower of Mr.Rosario, Do you really know the reason behind the death? Instead of knowing the truth how could give a conclusion? Here the talk going about the investigation, may b its a murder or suicide let police decide. Im not supporting any indivigual here, My point here is not to do this protest without any proper goal. Police are doing thier job and let them give us the report. By the way case is not yet closed so this protest doesnt make any sense.

My dear Mr. Well wisher from Mangalore. How does it matter who Robert Rosario is? He could be a judge, a police man, an ordinary citizen like me or a well wisher like you. It is not important to know who he is. What is relevant is that he has taken up the cudgels to try and get justice for Kavya's family. That is commendable. At least someone has shown the courage to come forward to take on the formidable people who seem to be bent on not allowing this matter to go forward. It is incumbent on all of us now to rally behind him in order to thwart the evil designs of those who appear to have committed this heinous crime and those politicians who are supporting them. And as far as your apprehension that this might spoil the name of Mangalore in front of the world goes, please do not lose sight of the fact that the name has already been tarnished thanks to the moral policing, goondaism, communal riots etc. that have reared its head here in a place that was known for communal harmony and amity among people.

People should not come to conclusion without knowing the fact. Who is this Robert Rosario?? Is he a supreme court judge? My sympathies are with Kavya's family but do not make it as a big issue and spoil the name of Mangalore infront of whole world. Let the court judgement come then take it forward.

Protest and rally will not bring justice to Kavya's parents. How long people can protest.
Media can not give justice to anyone.
Only good lawyer can bring justice.
    Kavya's parents are poor.
They may not have enough money to hire a good lawyer.
People who are supporting justice to Kavya should raise some money through donations for legal expenses.
The investigating agency likely drag this case as long as possible so that people will forget this issue.
Police could easily extract truth from Kavya's friends who are involved in the rescue.
Let them keep her friends in custody including the Physical Director. Facts will be revealed in no time.
Twin district Police have never solved any of the following murder cases. Perhaps Kavya will join that list.
    Sowjanya
    Rohit Radha Krishna
    Baliga

Justice delayed is as good as justice denied.

Bring the parents of other girls also who died earlier to support this rally. I doubt you make any number of rallies no use. Already lawmakers are inside, this case can be cracked if they bring Annamalai to investigate. truth will come out only if badminton coach arrested and the room mates questioned one by one separately for 1 week daily. There is a powerful element behind this scenario. If one is caught then all the cases will come out within no time. That's why they are protecting one person who knows everything. We do not know gods plan, may be to reveal the truth or may be to prevent further murders of innocent girls this may be a warning . Don't stop protesting fight for our right. What the rich people can do? They can only kill the body but there is soul. Which is imperishable. Murderers don't know about this.

Good development ...but saddened why every suicide case is not getting enough highlight and protest as this one??........and why Media giving special consideration for particular case....why politics involved with this case.....why mother Blindly blame Coach, and if she mentioning coach why she is not coming up with enough evidence which can be helpful for investigation .....for me... MEDIA is using Mother's sentiments to increase T.R.P..and Political party's trying to gain from Public Sympathy ......it seems unfortunate but genuine Suicide case .....R,I,P kavya

Nobody is interested to tarnish the image of Dr. Alva's institution. It is a figment of one of the readers' imagination to falsely accuse them here in these columns. The protest is to ensure that those found guilty are not protected either by the police or the politicians. It is feared that the matter could be swept under the carpet as the management is said to be close to the BJP, who it appears is trying to strain every nerve to see that the matter is nipped here. I have no hesitation to support the protest as I pray and hope that justice is done to the parents of the deceased. The guilty should not be allowed to go scot free, no matter what position he enjoys in this corrupt environment.

Guys cops are in few numbers and are useless they maybe not able to crack the case, catch the culprits because they don't keep the track of each and every person what they do or their movement. Now you guys are in large numbers and maybe many of you'll must be knowing her so can one of you provide a clue to crack the case and catch the culprit, for sure someone was keeping a track of her.

its a good move. whoever is involved to be identified and punished. By covering up INSTITUTION WILL GET A BAD NAME, but by cooperating and helping the family to get justice will enhance their name.Unfortunately justice for poor is a distant dream in our country.BJP SHOULD CLARIFY WHETHER THEY ARE FOR Kaavya or Alvas?.
