Bengaluru: I-T sleuths find astrologer close to DKS owns Rs 800 crore property

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 4: During their continued searches on Thursday August 3, income tax (I-T) officials found that Vellore Shankaranarayana Swarakanath Guruji, popularly known as Dwarakanath Guruji, who is deemed to be very close to embattled minister, D K Shivakumar, owns property worth Rs 800 crore.

Dwarakanath Guruji had recently bought a hospital worth Rs 800 crore by using money invested by Shivakumar. Reportedly, the I-T officials have also recovered an agreement entered into between the two in this regard. The hospital was acquired by Guruji for the sake of his two children, both of them doctors. It is said that he had confessed to the minister that he did not have enough money to acquire the said hospital, and the minister had volunteered to provide funds.

Documents relating to purchase of the said hospital, and agreements relating investments in private companies with the participation of Shivakumar have been taken into possession by officials. Hard disk containing CCTV footage of the house too was taken into possession by them. On Thursday, a bagful of documents were taken over by the officials from the house of Guruji, it is said.

Who is Dwarakanath Guruji?

Dwarakanath Guruji happens to be a guide and philosopher for a number of political leaders, entrepreneurs, bollywood actors and actresses and industrialists, among others. He resides in R T Nagar, and is known to be having powerful links everywhere.

As per information, Shivakumar came in contact with Dwarakanath when the former was student leader in SJRC College. It is said that because of Guruji's efforts, Shivakumar was made minister for prisons in Bangarappa ministry although it was his first term as MLA. It is said that the minister and Guruji are also involved with certain businesses. Dwarakanath happens to be the son of well-known astrologer, Bellur Shankaranarayana. He is a doctor by profession, and his daughter and son, both of whom are doctors, have married people in medical profession.

Dwarakanath rose to national fame after correctly predicting Indira Gandhi's victory from Chikkamagaluru constituency post emergency period. Before the Lok Sabha election 2014 too, he had predicted that Narendra Modi would become the Prime Minister of the country.

Controversies and clients

Dwarakanath has his share of controversies. Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry was held relating to securing of a postgraduate seat for his daughter when question paper of Rajiv Gandhi University of Helath Sciences was leaked. Dwarakanath's first ever controversy related to the death of former chief minister of Karnataka, Devaraj Urs, at his home. Urs's family members had then demanded for investigation into the former chief minister's death, terming it as suspicious.

In addition to Indira Gandhi, former union home minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, political secretary to Sonia Gandhi, Ahjmed Patel, former minister for foreign affairs, Natwar Singh, Punjab chief minister, Amarindar Singh, former chief minsister of Maharashtra, the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, Dharam Singh, S M Krishna and several others were close to him because his prowess at predictions, it is said. Dwarakanath has friends in different political parties and ministers, legislators, bureaucrats and others are among the impressive list of his clients.

In most of the cases, it is very profitable to be an Astrologer, Fortune-Teller or Guruji, until the long arm of the law catches up with you.

When we were in school - decades ago - we had lessons in History and English about the contributions made by people like Lal Bahadur Shastri, Vallabh Patel, Mahatma Gandhi and so on. Their deeds spurred and encouraged us children to think about serving the country in whatever capacity we could. What about the future children? What will they get to read about our present day ministers? That Yeddyurappa looted the state along with Janardhan Reddy and went to jail or D K Shivkumar amassing all this looted wealth? Is there any future for our children? I am afraid they will also emulate what these rogue ministers do.

Imagine the amount, OMG, 800 crores with personal astrologer, then one can imagine how much DKS and his family might have? I urge Modi to go after all corrupt politicians irrespective of party and recover huge amounts.

This is just the beginning. There are more sharks in all states like Andhra, Telangana, UP, Maharastra, and who can forget Mr. Sharad Pawar?

If everything comes out before 2024, no need for salaried class to pay income tax permanently and India will grow faster than US or any other country in world

    Hi Nambiar,

You say... "Most politicians have Benami holders. Its a well known fact and DKS is no exception. Unfortunately hes caught"

    Why unfortunate man?
Is the part of money that DKS had does not belong to you as a citizen of the country?
You are pitying on a person who cheated your tax money?
Educated person like you should not behave like this.

You support DKS and I have no issue. But not when he is stealing "your" money.
By the way, all politicians are to be dealt like this and all should vomit all those money they stashed or kept in various benami forms...
