Tackle terrorism, conflicts with dialogue, debate: PM Modi

New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI): Dialogue is the only way to cut through deep-rooted religious stereotypes and prejudices that divide communities across the world and sow seeds of conflict between nations and societies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday.

"As the inter-connected and inter-dependent world of 21st century battles a number of global challenges, from terrorism to climate change, I am confident that the solutions will be found through Asia's oldest traditions of dialogue and debate," he said.

Modi said he is a "product of the ancient Indian tradition that firmly believes in dialogue on difficult issues."

He stated this in a video message to the 2nd edition of 'Samvad- Global Initiative on Conflict Avoidance and Environment Consciousness' being held in Yangon.

The prime minister said the ancient Indian concept of "Tarka Shastra" (debate) is founded on dialogue and debate as the model for exchange of views and avoidance of conflict.

It is only natural that the search for answers be led by the humanity's longest traditions of thought, rooted in various religions, civilizations, and multiple streams of spirituality, he said.

Giving examples of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha and Bhakta Prahlada, he said the purpose of each of their actions was to uphold 'dharma' (duty), which has sustained Indians from ancient to modern times.

Talking about the environment, he said man must relate to nature and revere it and not merely consider it a resource to be exploited.

If man does not nurture nature, then nature reacts in the form of climate change, he said.

Environmental laws and regulations, while essential in any modern society, afford only an inferior protection to nature, he added, calling for "harmonious environmental consciousness."

He believes that he will make all terrorists do morning yoga and make them all amicable towards us. He believes in Gandhigiri, but cannot see rather does not want to see that his Gandhigiri is costing soldiers their lives and after death their families are living the lives of beggars, and his govt is not doing anything for their kins.

If this continues, a day will come when all the soldiers will put down their weapons and refuse to protect us. Have an ounce of respect to those fighting, getting injured amd dying for us on the borders, Mr Modi.

Are you expecting dialogues and peace talks with those who shout Pakistan zindabad in India? Favor those who throw stones on soldiers? Who cover their "martyr's" body with ISIS flag? Who rejoice on India's loss to Pakistan in cricket? And you order the security forces to just be hurt in stone pelting and do nothing? What kind of "bullshit" Gandhigiri is this? And if by chance any security personnel fires at some terrorist, you file charges against them? Means you are denying them of even protecting themselves?

He does not know anything else rather than introducing policies which cause unnecessary inconvenience to the honest citizens like demonetization, and introduce new tax regimes like GST which increase prices of products. He is not even exempting very senior citizens from paying taxes.

One more thing Modi sir, we are resilient by force and not by choice.

Gauathakwand is the biggest internal security to this nation after 'saffron terror'. Most of the saffron terror is already granted 'clean chit'. Now the PM is asking for dialogue and debate with terror who are lynching in public?
BJP is the only nationalised party who has formed alliance with Tamil party which supported LTTE in the south and North East terror groups which has fought against India for separate homeland.
