Congress workers protest attack on Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS): Hundreds of Congress workers on Saturday marched towards Gujarat Bhawan here to protest against the attack on party Vice President Rahul Gandhi's convoy in Gujarat.

The Congress workers gathered at Teen Murti in central Delhi and then marched towards Gujarat Bhawan.

The march was led by Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken.

The protesters raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Earlier in the day, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and National Students Union of India (NSUI) workers staged a protest outside the BJP headquarters in central Delhi and raised slogans against the party.

The police had to use mild force to disperse the crowd.

Gandhi's car was stoned in Gujarat's Banaskantha on Friday while he was on a tour of flood-affected areas. The Congress leader was not hurt but his personal security officer was hurt in the stoning.
