New Delhi, May 12: On Monday, railway minister Laloo Prasad will once again don the hat of a management guru and explain to students of INSEAD Business School at Singapore the story of how the Indian Railways turned a new leaf.

Prasad, who is leading a team of railway experts to a week-long tour to Singapore and Malaysia, is also likely to finalize some deals in favour of railways. In Malaysia, he will oversee the signing of a contract wherein Indian Railways Container Corporation (IRCON) is to construct a double track high-speed corridor worth Rs 400 crore.

Prasad’s visit to Institute d’Administration des Affairs (INSEAD), Asia campus, in Singapore, is in response to an invitation from its global dean Frank Brown and Asia campus head Narayan Pant. They had come to India last year for an interaction with Prasad. The railway minister will be sharing his management secrets which is said to have not only brought railways out of a financial crisis, but also fetched a whopping Rs 25,000 crore surplus.

Railways have an agreement with INSEAD for providing training to its senior officials on customer strategies. Besides addressing MBA students, Laloo is also slated to attend a presentation on the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit System. In Malaysia, he will oversee signing of an pact on a high-speed rail corridor project to be executed by IRCON, a PSU under railways.
