Odisha CM taken ill during flag hoisting


Bhubaneswar, Aug 15 (IANS): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik suddenly felt unwell while addressing the gathering at the Independence Day function here on Tuesday.

However, the Chief Minister's Office said he is completely fine and would attend all the other programmes scheduled during the day.

"The Chief Minister suddenly did not feel well due to humidity. Now he is completely OK and at Naveen Nivas (his residence)," a communique of the Chief Minister's Office said.

It said he would also attend all his programmes scheduled for the day.

The Chief Minister, who attended the police medal ceremony at Jaydev Bhawan here, told media persons that he is completely alright.

The Chief Minister, who unfurled the National Flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, was visibly unwell while delivering his address and was seen slowing down towards the end of his speech.

However, he remained at the parade venue and took the salute. Doctors, who checked him, said the Chief Minister is fine.
