Bihar: Seven men beaten up over rumours of eating beef; victims held

Patna, Aug 18 (Deccan Chronicle): In another recent incident of mob violence, seven Muslim men in Bihar were thrashed by a group of cow vigilantes on Thursday over rumours of them having eaten beef.

The incident took place in Bihar’s Champaran village. Instead of the attackers, the victims have been arrested.

According to an NDTV report, the hateful incident occurred, when the self-appointed cow protectors barged into Kudoos Qureshi and Mohammed Sahabuddin’s home accusing them of stealing and slaughtering a calf for its meat on Wednesday night.

Along with the two targets, a few neighbours were also locked in a room and beaten with sticks. Stones were pelted at police personnel when they reached the spot.

However, instead of arresting the offenders, police have held victims for “hurting religious sentiments”. The victims have also been charged with animal cruelty.

Sanjay Kumar Jha, a police officer said that no action was taken against the offenders as there was no complaint against them.

"Initially our main task was to defuse the situation and it was due to large deployment of the police force that no untoward incident took place as mobs were descending from other villages also," the police officer said.

Shankar Anna, this proves that BJP could not buy NDTV. They even tried to silence BJP by raids on Mr. Pranoy Roy. NDTV is the best TV channel which covers news and brings truth to public.

This national insanity initiated and promoted by the current Central Government is being watched all over the world. The U.S. State Department's open report of India in minority persecution-beef ban and anti-conversion laws will cause national shame in this 21st century as another savage land.

"Hurting Religious Sentiments" what a joke. What happens to the religious sentiments when cows are slaughtered and its meat exported and even consumed in India those who praise Modi and are BJP supporters?????!!!!........This is nothing but forcefully demanding votes from defenceless poor people as a form of punishment to them and if they vote BJP no sentiments not even law affects them.

The coalition partner BJP in newly formed government is using he same tactics used by CM Yogi's private army in Uttar Pradesh.
They are creating insecurity among the minority Muslims so that turn away from JD(U) and project themselves as security of Hindu majority.

The minority and backward which supported overwhelmingly in one voice under 'Mahagatbandan' is now split so that Muslims shoo away from JD(U) to benefit BJP.

At the same time BJP will keep increasing the attacks through its fanatic organisation so that the blame goes CM Nitish Kumar.

It certainly prove difficult for CM Nitish losing many seats to BJP in bargain.
