Bantwal, Aug 19: “People of Dakshina Kannada district are peace loving. The recent friction in Bantwal was by religious fanatics of minority and majority communities,” said district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.

Speaking in the news conference called at Bantwal guest house, he said that police have conducted investigations of all murder cases and arrested the suspects. He commended the police for their work.

“I had put pressure on the government and the department as district in-charge minister and MLA. I have prayed in temples, mosques and churches for peace of the district. Those who spread propaganda should be punished. Fearless atmosphere in taluk is my priority,” he said.

'I will not make children beg, let Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat beg'

“Kalladka Sri Rama Shool is government aided school. Prabhakar Bhat had said that no government meals were required for the school. Concerned department has taken action as per law. I have no part in it,” he said.

Criticising RSS leader Prabhakar Bhat throughout, he said Sri Devi High School had objected to the school started by grandson of Subbanna Shastri of Punacha. “Dr Bhat with MLA Mallika Prasad had thrown out children with their meal plates from the school. Worms were formed in the meal plates. Kalladka Bhat is saying that meals were stopped in Kalladka School. What had he done at Punacha?”

“It would have been better if Prabhakar Bhat had begged instead of making children beg. Government pays salaries to the teachers in the school. He gets monetary help from film actors, actresses and businessmen like Janardhan Reddy. High schools are running with aid from government and it is still possible to get Bisiyoota. What can the government do if the schools say that they do not want mid day meals from the government?” He asked.

'The land for Sri Rama School was provided by Congress government'

“The then Congress government had provided land for the school. There was no discrimination. Dr Bhat should have been grateful for it. The one in Kalladka is not Sri Rama mandira. It is a building for commercial purpose. It is not known how many crores are collected from the rich. He makes money in the name of Hindutva and cheats people,” he said.

“My school is not on government land. MP Nalin Kumar says that their school is on government land so the government help should be taken. I have not misused power like that. Though Oscar Fernandes had approved Rs 28 crores for BC road and service road, it was not possible to use it properly. How can Nalin who could not repair BC Road is called number one MP. BJP is giving statements for political gain,” he said.

Asked about being the home minister, he asked the reporters to wait and see. “I will be going to Bengaluru and see what will happen,” he said.

State cashew development board president B H Khader, Bantwal taluk panchayat vice president Abbas Ali, municipal council president Ramakrishna Alva, vice president Mohammed Nandarabettu, taluk akrama sakrama committee president Mayilappa Salian, APMC president Padmanabha Naringana, project authority president Sadashiva Bangera, zilla panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty, M S Mohammed, Padmashekar Jain, Manjula Mave, taluk panchayat member Sanjipa Poojary, youth congress president Prashanth Kulal, leaders Rajesh Balekallu, Padmanabha and others were present.

The politics of hate and false will promises will not last long. Instead of focusing on sab ka vikas as promised, BJP WANT TO COVERUP ITS FAILURES By FLARING UP COMMUNAL PASSIONS. Ultimately its the aam aadmi who is suffering.
